the noun aine that means "splendor, radiance, brilliance." Aine is connected with fruitfulness and prosperity. The queen of the Munster fairies was called Aine as was one of the wives of Fionn Mac Cool (read the legend). Aine appears in folktales as "the best-hearted woman who ever lived – lucky in love and in money.
Anya was my first show dog and was the foundation bitch of Boru Bloodhounds. I earned my first CKC Championship with her and also my first group placements. Anya was an easy Bloodhound; so smart and in tune with me. She could make you laugh and was a great friend. She was only bred once but made many dreams come true with just that one litter. She produced 10 consistently beautiful puppies and was an amazing mother. If all Bloodhounds could learn from Anya, none would need obedience, she was excellent at keeping the other dogs on their best behaviour.
The puppy bitch I kept from Anya was Esme. Our first weekend out, Esme won breed over much more mature dogs, a group 2 and finally Best Puppy In Show! Anya's grandchildren followed in the same footprints, winning group placements as youngsters and BPIS. I owe all my success to her.
